I am in love with this pattern and this yarn. This is My So Called Scarf in 100% merino worsted weight wool by Malabrigo. The color is stonechat. Given the choice to do it again, I'd go with brighter colors and more contrasting, but the store I visited didn't have much from which to choose. I still love it though.
The Hub took me to Barnes & Noble last night for what was one of my last few chances to show it off. We browsed some wonderful books while I sipped a soy chai latte and nibbled on a biscotti. YUUUUUM! Remember my rule about eating whatever I want for the first 2 days of my period? Bliss.
While browsing, I happened upon a book called Secret Thoughts of an Adoptive Mother. I picked it up to see what it was about, and I was hooked! Before I knew it, I had finished half the book while semi-consciously following DH's back around the store. I didn't buy it, but was sorely tempted. I plan to order a used copy on Amazon to save money. Prepare to hear all about it if I do! I'm in love with the book already!
Then we came home and watched the lunar eclipse. Did anyone else see it?

And we saw the eclipse too (although for just a few minutes since it was so cold).
Look how pretty - it was too cloudy over for to see the eclipse. I was sad becaause I managed to stay awake in anticipation
The scarf is beautiful!!! I really like the colors. Plus it reminds me that my local yarn shop is going to start selling malabrigo soon...yay!!!
I missed the eclipse as it was about seven degrees here and a little to cold to be standing outside. I had wanted to see it though. The news had excellent coverage though so that was good.
Mmmm... I love B&N. I could spend days on end in the bookstore. Its heaven to me. Your scarf looks really cool. I think it turned out well too. I tried to make a scarf for my bor-in-law for Christmas one year. I never did it again. lol! I did however used to crochet blankets like it was no one's business. I loved giving them away for weddings and birthdays. I stopped when I met my sweetie and haven't been able to get back into it since. *sigh* I do love that fuzzy yarn that has a picture of a lion and a lamb on it though. Maybe I should send all of my yarn to you. I have a ton!
I also think you should by all means indulge in a new book. :) You deserve it.

Michelle - Send all that yarn my way! haha. The yarn you're describing is Lion's Brand Homespun. I like it a lot too. :) See.. I just can't seem to get in to Crochet. Blankets are wonderful. It's weird how many people seem to pick one or the other.
Your new scarf is beautiful! I love the colours too. We were fortunate to catch the eclipse -- it had been raining all day but the sky cleared up just in time. I'm a bit of a B&N addict myself. I only come home with a book maybe half of the time, but I love going there. :)
I did see it. I was at work that night until 11 pm working on a proposal... for a project I still haven't heard back on. It was a crisp, cold, clear night here in southern Ohio. I was surprised that with all the light polution from the city I could still see the three other bodies that made the triangle around it. I went outside every half hour or so to check it out. I missd the end because I got home and went to sleep. But I did get to see it happening, which was neat. ;)
