Wow. Read this, then continue. In some ways I understand what the author is trying to say. And I agree to a point. However, I think when discussing IVF and frozen embryos, you really should do a lot more research than merely quoting a few studies and then spouting your opinion. I would have taken this article more seriously had it shown that he really grasps the full implications and procedures involved in IVF along with treating the patients as actual people rather than objectifying them as moral pariahs. There's also a lot of generalization going on here, and a LOT of condascention. I know condascention sells to the people who rabidly agree with you, but it doesn't change minds, sway hearts or speak to anyone else. Seriously - even if you look at it from a completely selfish angle, he would garner more wide-ranging support with a better, more researched outlook.

Thanks for sharing this. It really makes me angry when someone makes broad generalizations and has NO IDEA what really is going on! He obviously has had no experience with IVF. Such a waste of perfectly good internet space. It makes me sad that still so many people believe those of going through IVF are just here because we wanted to have our lives before we got pregnant. We waited to long and now selfishly we make too many and leave them to waste. IDIOT!!
I read the article at the point you told me to with out looking at the remainder of your post and was worried that I'd come back to this blog with you whole heartedly agreeing (I don't know why). But you are right, full of bread generalizations and not even a hint of a point of view put forward by people who have had their embryo's frozen.
