Another one of our family's old guard passed away today - my great Uncle. And my great Aunt (my Grandma's sister) had a stroke a few days ago. It's hard to accept this changing of the guard. My parents and their peers are now the heads of the family. I don't like it one bit.
On the other hand, Jen and Baby Steps to Baby Shoes may be having babies soon! Life is so complex and horrible and beautiful all at once. I often think though that it could not be nearly so beautiful without the tragedy.

I'm sorry about your great Uncle and your great Aunt. My family has lost all of that generation too.
Yeah, this baby better get a move on, since I ended up missing the Christmas fun last night. She can't have it both ways! :)
I am sorry about your losses. It is sad but you are right you could never know true happiness if you don't experience true sadness.

Difficult time. Take care.
My father's aunt died this year. She was the last remaining member of that generation. He IS now the older generation. And I guess since my sister and many of my cousins have kids, I am no longer a member of the younger one. It is scary.
