Blog Problems

Little housekeeping note that I've been having trouble accessing many of my favorite blogs lately. I don't know if it's me or you, but just know that I'm trying to get on there to comment!

Happy birthday to Jen's Luke. We love you too baby. Wish I could have met you.

The Bare Truth on Future Pregnancy

If you remember, I hashed out my thoughts (which Hub shares) on us having no more children. And each and every thing I said still rings true. But do you know what the heaviest truth is?

Right now I am blissfully happy with E. I try to stay aware and helpful for those who do not have my happiness, but I am effing terrified of the what ifs. Rightly or wrongly, I feel like we cheated the system. I feel triumphant and victorious. I still have loads of fears for E as he grows, but they aren't as irrationally strong as the ones surrounding pregnancy and infancy. And you know what? I almost feel blissfully naive again. Or at least I can pretend I am. And I am not in the least prepared to give that up.

1000 Posts Old

Um, so I made it to 1000 posts and didn't even commemorate it. This is the 1000th. I had intended to write something all inspirational and junk about having that many posts, but yeah right. We all know how my brain works (or doesn't.)

I've been posting in this blog for four and a half years. I relied heavily on blogs and message boards early on in our TTC journey, but I resisted starting one of my own thinking it would look pretty silly if I went and got pregnant shortly after starting. Ah but I am a sweet, naive thing. So I started blogging in the midst of all the crap and met many helpful, wonderful human beings along the way. I still love writing. I just don't get to do it as much as I once did. I blame my ridiculous level of fatigue. Yes it's much better than it ever was, but I still feel like I am way too tired for my age. Or maybe I AM just getting old?

So for this, post 1002, how about I introduce you to the very first time I wrote an entry for Fertility Challenged in Florida.

Another beautiful weekend over and work week begun. I like my job, but there simply aren't enough days off in the year to complete all my projects or enjoy my family enough. Don't you all agree? (Well maybe not some of you lucky Europeans with you great holiday time. Or hello Canada with your year of maternity leave!)

Dear Metformin

You and I didn't get off to the greatest of starts. I was afraid of our relationship, and that fear was validated after your first rejection of my food choices. It was quite a few months of trial, error and adjustment until we worked things out.
Now I can only thank you for the fact that I now have my beautiful child, my blood lipids are no longer in the scary range, and I have normal cycles for the first time ever! They are less painful, more predictable and TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS LONG! It's no longer an oddity. I just had my third 28 day cycle in a row for the first time ever!
So... Thanks... A lot.

Another Check in the Con Column for Florida

It's so transient. I swear all the best people leave. Family, friends and coworkers have gone in the past, and now there's another wave. A new mom I really gelled with had to move, then an old friend who moved here before me. Now someone I met in IF circles years ago (and adore) is moving to a whole different country!

One of the reasons we chose Fl over others is because there were a wealth of family members and people so close they may as well have been family here. There are still a few, but it's dwindling fast, and at a time when we so need it. (Because it's all about us, right?) The economy has played a large part in all the recent ones, just like it's keeping us here in our decent situation. It's just too scary to trust anything other than a fabulous job offer.

What about you? How have your relationships been affected?
